Hosted by the Optimist Club of Reno, the Ray Pezonella Memorial Golf Tournament honors the memory of Ray Pezonella, a man who was devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren, partners and community.

As the quintessential Optimist, Ray was a member of too many organizations and clubs to list individually. He was most heavily involved with the Lions Club, EAR and Optimist Club of Reno holding all club offices all the way to District Governors. He made many contributions to the community including lights for several local football fields and many park improvements through his work with the Lions Club. He was truly a larger than life man who had the gift of making you feel safe, important and loved. He had a soft spot for children and was always involved with something that was helping them. The community is a better place because of Ray and his charitable service.

The tournament will become the largest annual fundraiser for the Optimist Club of Reno, in honor of Ray’s generosity, and dedication to the youth of our community. Taking place on June 2nd, 2023 at the Red Hawk Golf & Resort, the fundraiser will help benefit local area youth.
